My Project

My preschool special education students are just starting out in school and I want to provide them with resources to make learning fun, encourage discovery and questioning, and solve problems. In the morning, I have a class of 7 students who receive special education services integrated with 7 students who are typically developing. My afternoon class consists of 9 students who have more significant developmental needs and just started attending school.

One thing they all have in common is that preschoolers love to explore, build, create, and learn about the world around them!

My students are learning cause/effect, how things work, appropriate use of materials, and how to interact with others. STEM activities are an exciting way to encourage all these skills and more!

Hands-on exploration is the best way for young learners to grow! Many of the students in my classroom do not have the resources at home to explore and learn how things work together. The items I am requesting will give them these experiences. The requested STEM items will be included in our science center, will be part of our play to learn activities each day, and will be used in small groups to provide specific instruction in tool use and cooperative play.

Please help me give my preschool students an engaging way to explore the world around them, learn new skills, and foster a love for learning.
