Preschool Special Education Take Home Supplies for Distance Learning

My Students

Preschool special education poses a very difficult situation for distance learning. My students need manipulatives to practice the skills we do at school. My students needs hands-on materials to learn concepts and interact with their tacher online. The students need repetition with a variety of materials to make their learning fun and rewarding for them.

Each child has unique needs at his own level.

The materials that may be appropriate for some children will not be the ones for others to be successful with. Individual packets with individual activities will be imperative for the distance learning to be appropriate for the students.

These unique needs necessitate unique experiences for each child. When we try to interact now, the students do not have the materials for me to work with them on their specific goals. It is hard to teach over the Internet if they do not have materials to work with in front of them.

My Project

My preschool special education students needs hands-on manipulatives to succeed during distance learning. Most of my students cannot work a computer mouse and are not interested in Apps. They want to play to learn just like they do at school.

Packing manipulatives for at home use will enable the parents to have the materials to ensure the students learn at home and are able to interact with their teacher online.

These activities will center around language development and math concepts such as colors, numbers, shapes and sizes.

Interaction with the teacher via her website, both for the parents and the students through the Internet, will be enhanced if the families have the tools they need to participate.
