My Project

We all know that students learn best when they are active. Also, we know that smaller students love to pretend and use their imagination! As a preschool teacher, I look for ways to have my students learn by doing. One of these ways is to get them outside to our outdoor classroom.

My students need this outdoor playset in order to learn social skills and real-life scenarios, and to be active learners!

With this playset and food accessories, students learn cooperation, leadership, and friendship skills. Students will be able to take turns simulating real-life scenarios and cooperating with their peers as well as teaming up with their classmates to "prepare meals."

Our school is in a very rural area where they see their caregivers doing these exact things. We want to encourage our students to also be good stewards of their households, build upon their play at school, and help parents at home. We also want to encourage communication and work with our English Language Learners to improve language skills. This is a great way to build those communication skills.
