My students need the stand up magnetic write and wipe centers and the magnetic math materials to help them learn basic math concepts by moving the magnetic numbers and objects.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The curriculum I use promotes many hands-on learning activities, as well as learning through music and movement. These activities happen in various centers I have set up in the room. Appropriate sturdy materials are the key to the children learning and improving their academic and social skills.
I have a class of nine preschool students whose ages range from 3-5 years old.
All of the students have a variety of mild to moderate special needs ranging from developmental delays, speech delays, fine motor delays, and emotional/behavioral issues. They learn so much throughout the year and it's amazing to witness their progress! There is a team of teachers and staff that support their learning. Whether it's through gym activities, art activities, fun speech, O.T., P.T. or music activities, a lot of support is in place to help all of my students achieve a variety of goals.
My Project
The stand up magnetic write and wipe centers will allow all of my students to explore and manipulate magnetic numbers and objects during math centers. We have very few magnetic math materials in the classroom. The math curriculum suggests having various hands on materials to help students explore and identify many numbers and other counting activities.
Magnetic preschool materials are wonderful tools that encourage exploration and learning!
Having two stand up centers will provide flexiblity for students to explore in small groups or individually. A big bonus is that students can use dry erase markers on the surface which can be wiped.
