My Project
Our high schoolers are getting ready to open our preschool lab for the school year, and they need your help to create an organized and creative experience for ten preschoolers in our community.
Our lab has a garden forest theme, so we’d like to create a big tree in our discovery center with a fairy tale backdrop and then add things to it throughout the year, laminating them as we go to make sure they’re durable to keep for years to come.
High school student teachers will also be putting together portfolios for our preschoolers, practicing what it takes to be an early childhood educator in charge of assessments, screenings and more.
By using the materials provided through this project such as durable binders, dividers, and sharpies, our high schoolers will be ready to be more organized when it comes time for their capstone project of hosting a mock family-teacher conference with area teachers to practice working with community members to help our littlest learners.
We appreciate your support of our future educators and human service professionals along with our preschool friends. Our hope is that, within our diverse student population, we can instill a passion for working with children and families, providing a pipeline from high school to the workforce that reflects the beauty of our diversity and the strength that comes from encourage our students---Hispanic, African American, White, Pacific Islander, Indigenous and bi-racial---to reach for their dreams and support children and families to do the same. We hope to utilize these materials in order to have the best semester yet!
