This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a special education preschool teacher for all learners. My students have a range of abilities and support necessities. My school is a Title I school that serves students who come from low-income families and all qualify for the free or reduced-price lunch program.

My students need to be highly motivated and engaged with materials that are durable.

Most of my families have very minimal access to resources. Since the beginning of distance learning, I have recorded videos and hosted video meetings demonstrating activities. It became evident that my students needed the materials in front of them to engage with and sustain attention. With the help of donors, I hope to provide these basic necessities to my students and families.

My Project

I will use the materials donated to provide students with color printed activities that will be mailed or delivered to their home. I will also laminate materials for more durability, for example, communication boards and schedule visuals.

It is critical for my students to have laminated materials to reuse during this time of distance learning.

I will ensure that students have access to color printed materials to foster their learning. I will use the markers to write on chart paper during our video meetings. Providing students with colorful and laminated materials will allow me to better serve them better during this distance learning experience.
