I am a Social Worker servicing preschoolers of all levels. I work in a variety of classes, where the kids vary in ability levels. The students that I service are on IEPs under various labels and have various disabilities.
My students are in an Early Childhood program with goals designed to focus on their individual academic, social, and/or physical needs.
They require a 5 day a week program and the support of many therapies (OT, PT, Speech, and SW). They are a wonderful bunch of kiddos who love to learn and amazig me everyday.
My Project
My preschoolers are in te program they are in due to learning and social difficulties. They learn through visuals, modeling, books, and teacher examples. I woud like to use these same ideas to teach basic care that they need to learn.
Many of my students are unaware of proper dental and personal hygiene techniques needed to live a healthy life.
I would like to supply the needed materials, such a large models and age appropriate books to assist in teaching them this important life skill. I plan on using the materials requested in this project to practice, discuss, read about, and practice again (and again) the importance of this life skill.
