I am currently teaching at a poverty level, income based school.
My students are the most eager and loving students I have ever met!
They are so thankful to have a safe place to come to every day and know that they will have a full day of learning through play. I have been in all of the homes of my students and they have very little. My students are my life. I love what I do and how much they have changed my life.
My students have taught me how to forgive and to live for the moment because you never know what will happen with your next breath. I have been teaching for 10 years, and my love for the students at this school has shaped me into a better adult. I came to this classroom at a very low point in my life because I recently lost a stillborn son. These children can not take his place but they have certainly helped me heal.
My Project
These materials would be a game changer to our classroom. My students would be able to practice S.T.E.A.M. skills daily in more than one are of the classroom.
The tempura paint, paint sticks, water colors, aprons, and paint brushes would ensure that our art cabinet never runs out of opportunistic for my students to express themselves with art.
The light table supplies will allow me to expand my "all about me " theme by allowing my students to see real bones!
The science materials will expand my science center and allow my students to use real life skills.
