Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing 3rd graders in a high needs area of a borough in New York. Many of my students are English language learners, and some with special needs. Each student is unique in his or her own way and deserves to have the best educational experience possible. They come to school every day eager to learn! We are from a Title I school, in which all of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch, and come from families that face challenges in being able to provide their children with learning supplies.
In the classroom, we incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year! They have shown a tremendous amount of resilience through such trying times.
My Project
This year will be the first year that our students will be engaged in Computer Science education. The will be immersed in computer science concepts and practices through fun and engaging learning experiences! Literacy and Math Skills will be intertwined in many of our activities and read alouds!
The Apple TV will be used to facilitate presentations made by the students and the teacher on our classroom Smartboard.
The stylus pens, headphones, copy paper, and crayons will be used by the students when engaged in online and unplugged activities on their iPads, tablets, and laptops.
