My students are eager to learn and ready for the challenge. They have a wide diversity of economic backgrounds and do not always have the opportunities that other students may be given.
As they enter the room their faces are filled with joy and ready for a new day.
They burst with energy and are filled with ideas. We work together to build relationships and friendships that foster a togetherness. They help each other discover and problem solve and make progress as a team.
My Project
My students love reading nonfiction books and many of the students are reading above grade level.
In order to continually work on reading comprehension at their reading levels, I need materials that will support my students.
By receiving items such as the "Project-Based Learning Kits" the students will be able to make reading comprehension fun and not just read and answer questions from a worksheet. The "Fiction and Nonfiction Paired Passages" will allow students to make connections and deepen their understanding of particular topics. The "Nonfiction Reading Comprehension Practice Cards" have a variety of topics to include social studies, science, and the arts that will give students a variety of genres to choose from to work on comprehension.
