My Students

My students are energetic, fun-loving, eager second graders who look forward to coming to school every day. My students face many challenges such as disabilities, lack of supplies, and language barriers because their native language is not English, but despite these challenges, they are eager and ready to learn.

Every day, I strive to meet their various needs in any way that I can.

I try to create an engaging and peaceful work environment so their minds can soar! By making sure they have what they need to be academically successful, safe, healthy, and secure, I am helping them to be as productive as possible.

My students live in a low-income, inner-city neighborhood and they have struggles at home. It is my job to make sure they are able to accomplish what they wish to in school. One of my goals, as a teacher, is to provide things that my children are lacking and to create a positive learning environment. My students love to experience new things and visit new places, such as the many field trips that I take them on. I also try to keep their bellies full and their minds open to learning new things.

My Project

My goal for this project is to get the supplies that every child will need and make individual packs so that we don't have common sharing of supplies. We have not been told if we will be returning to our classes in the Fall or if we will continue to use online learning.

My project is for every student to have their own supply of: crayons, colored pencils, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners, glue sticks, and notebooks that they can keep in their desks or will be sent home depending on our learning environment.

With our future still being uncertain, I want to make sure that my future students will still have the supplies that they will either need in class or at home. The pouches will be used to store all of these supplies to help keep it organized. They will need pencils, crayons, colored pencils, and sharpeners on a daily basis to complete their Literacy, Writing, and Math work everyday.

I want to make sure that I also have a safe environment for my students where we are not sharing supplies, they have their own dedicated spaces to work in, and try to prevent the spread of germs as best as I can. I think having their own supplies will be a good start and also help to alleviate any burden that families might have in preparing for the new school year.
