My Project

My students come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds in an urban neighborhood. They attend an alternative education program designed for students in elementary and middle school who struggle in a regular school setting for various reasons. My students deserve to feel proud, believed in, and that they are able to create something wonderful.

They struggle with a range of learning disabilities and emotional disorders, and some lack a stable home life.

Even with the external stress that surrounds them on a daily basis, they remain hardworking, talented and driven.

I am requesting an embroidery machine to begin teaching students to embroider and create. The project materials will enable my students to both learn a new skill as well as explore a possible career choice in the field of art.

This machine will also allow students to create their own apparel for their school along with clubs, and teams. This machine will help to increase student engagement and unity.
