My students need to be exposed to authentic materials through real life situations. Fifty subscriptions to ¿Qué tal? magazine offers them audio, visual, writing, reading, and oral exercises.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Non-Native Spanish Speakers need to practice their oral, visual, audio, and writing skills. I use audio and video activities that I search on youtube, but I find it quiet difficult to find activities according to their level. This magazine targets all the skills for learning a new language.
My students attend a Title I school that is located in a low-socio economic neighborhood.
Our school has been negatively impacted by budget cuts and has survived with school supplies donated by a religious organization. Asking for supplemental materials is a luxury that we can not have. Since Spanish is not a core subject, we are not even offered an opportunity to order materials to engage students in learning.
My Project
Students will be learning Spanish in a more interactive way and with characters that they feel connected to. They will be able to read their interesting stories, listen to what they have to say, and at the same time, understand the importance of learning Spanish.
Learning has to be engaging in order to motivate students to own their learning.
I would like to offer my students an opportunity to have the real magazine in their hands. I own one and I project it. I read it aloud but I strongly believe my students will benefit more if they have it in their hands. My students will be thankful if granted this opportunity in their learning. I have 3 classes, and each class has more than 35 students, but we are only asking for a class set.
