This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Middle school can be a challenging time academically and socially. When you throw in puberty, middle school can be an embarrassing time for young girls who are trying to figure out unpredictable menstrual cycles and new products. As a social worker, I have worked to build up our Panther Pantry to address the many challenges our students and families face, and being prepared for an unexpected period is one of those areas.

Girls regularly come to the Panther Pantry needing feminine hygiene products, a new pair of undies and/or a new pair of pants after an unexpected leak through.

I normalize, validate and empower them to seek out what they need to address the issue and get them back to class so they can get back to learning! Help me stock up our Panther Pantry with a variety of products to address the period needs of our middle schoolers.
