My Project
This summer, the MPES's Attendance team has been working hard to prepare for School Year 25-26. We have been analyzing attendance data from school year 24-25, identifying barriers for families getting students to school every day, and planning incentives for the upcoming school year. One barrier in August and September for families is being financially prepared to buy new uniforms for their students.
This August at our annual Sneak a Peek to Meet Your Teacher event, we will collaborate with families who are in need of new uniforms for their students to start the new year.
We will offer two uniforms for each student in the family who shares that they can benefit from the new uniforms. We also hope to offer fresh school supplies, backpacks, and haircuts or hair braiding from our care closet for our students at this welcome back event for families.
MPES is a special community. Many of our current students' parents were students here as well. By offering uniforms to families in need, we are continuing to build special relationships with our students and their families. We strive to be a welcoming campus where our students and families are able to advocate for their needs and receive the support they need in order to bring their students to school daily
