My Students

Our population is very diverse. We have many nationalities, cultures, and abilities. Our children come to school eager to learn and with a thirst for knowledge in spite of their socioeconomic hardships. Our parents do all they can to provide our children with the supplies necessary to succeed. We have an in-depth special education program, a gifted and talented program, and a dual-language program. My computer lab is used by students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.

An elementary school classroom is like no other place in the world.

It is a home for little ones for six hours a day. Teachers not only provide education in math, reading, and other school subjects, they provide stability, love, acceptance, and support for amazing little people. Teachers educate the whole child. Personally, I strive to teach values, love, and acceptance in my room as well.

My Project

My students and I used our new Cricut cutting machine to create crafts, models, t shirts and banners during our Enrichment program! The Cricut allows my students to design their own creations on the computer and then send them to the "maker" to cut and create. We need to renew our access to a Cricut Premium Subscription to use over 90,000 images, fonts, and projects as we create our own projects. There are so many choices! Fonts, shapes, positive sayings, and charactes allow my students to express their creativity while using math to ensure their creations fit on their water bottle, t-shirt, tumbler, or other item! This subscription will ensure we don't worry about choosing the free graphics as we will have access to everything!
