This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 20 wonderful smiling, friendly faces greet me every day!

My students are hungry for knowledge, and they are very eager to learn.

I teach for the largest school district in Oklahoma.

My school is high poverty and 100% of our students receive free lunch and breakfast. They love to talk, share and are very social. They like to learn in a way that is meaningful and fun for them. The majority of my students are English Language Learners and have never had a positive interaction with reading. Despite the poverty, they work hard and are constantly trying to learn more and more. They are great and always appreciate anything that is given to them to help them learn.

My Project

This document camera is one piece of classroom technology that can be used to actively engage my students in the learning process. PreK is such an important grade; we set the foundation for our students. My students are four & young 5 year olds who are visual learners. My students will benefit from the use of a classroom document camera by seeing small items, text, demonstrations in a much bigger way. In pre-k we learn letter and number formation. It is often hard for my students to sit criss-cross and see my demonstration from their sitting spots. This document camera will allow my students to see in a much better way. My (pre-k) hands-on learners can also benefit from the use of a document camera by allowing them to be the ones placing objects or items under the document camera and explaining what they are showing.

This document camera will also allow my students to become more engaged in the lessons and share their work with the class.

This classroom document camera can also drastically reduce the amount of copying. This document camera will be used a lot everyday!

This is a way for even the shy and timid child to be involved in presenting in front of a group. This is a lifelong skill that kids need to succeed.
