My Project
I teach a Pre-K classroom of energetic and curious four- and five-year-olds in a school that serves many low-income families. Early childhood education is a critical time for developing foundational skills in language, math, motor coordination, and social-emotional learning. However, we currently lack many of the basic materials needed to support this development—such as art supplies, sensory toys, age-appropriate books, and hands-on learning centers. Without these resources, it’s difficult to create a rich, engaging environment that supports learning through play and exploration. This grant would allow us to provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate materials that encourage creativity, build early literacy and numeracy, and promote collaborative learning. With these supplies, I can ensure that every child in my class has access to the tools they need to thrive in their earliest years of education.
