My students need Cozy Cove materials and flexible seating and learning tools! Our Cozy Cove is calm and green, hence the green carpet and canopy. Our Safe Place can also use some cozy blue bean bags.
My students are a diverse group of 3, 4, and 5 year-olds eager to learn, play together, and have tons of energy and fun! Each day is full of singing, sensory play, reading, counting, problem-solving, make-believe play, creative arts, playing guitar/ukulele/other instruments, and lots of playing outside!
Many of my students are low income and in some cases have experienced being homeless.
They experience several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am looking to ensure all their needs are met while in school and want to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
We all know how hard it is to sit in one place for a long time! Especially for our early learners :) I'd love to give them more options for cozy seating in our classroom, like Bean Bags for reading, a nice carpet and canopy for our Cozy Cove, and lap desks for writing practice at the carpet! The Timer is a visual tool to help my students get ready for transitions and the Write the Letter Activity center will be perfect to use with the lap desks.
I want my students' school experience to be comfortable and a place where they can feel cozy and safe while learning!
A lot of my students have been in and out of transition or have experienced being homeless, and school might be one of their most consistent safe places to be. I want to make the best of it for them, and give them what they deserve!
