My students are ages 3-5 in a full day PreK program for children with disabilities or learning delays. My students have various disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delays, and Language Impairments. For most of them it is the first time they are in school and this is an introduction to education for them. My main goal is to prepare my students for entering Kindergarten in the next 1-2 years. They are great kids with so many amazing skills and talents that we are learning everyday.
My Project
This project will help fund what we need for our classroom centers. Our students rotate to each center- red, blue, yellow, and green during our center rotations. Each center has different academic activities for the students to complete, such as iPads, math manipulatives, reading activities, Playdoh, social skills, blocks, and fine motor.
The items in this project will help to provide some of the items we need to differentiate the areas- including the colored mats which will guide the students in moving to the different centers by their colors.
The headphones and the iPad screen protectors will help with the iPad center that students participate in. Also, the other items will be used to create materials for the students to use in various center activities.
