Predicting Oklahoma's Crazy Weather!

My Students

My sweet, curious 6th graders have weathered through such a trying time in history. COVID-19 has changed the course of my students lives. Some of my students' have lost parents, grandparents and friends all due to COVID-19. They've lost class time due to quarantining as well as their own illnesses. The negative impact is palpable. In spite of everything they've gone through and are continuing to go through these kiddos come to school, to my science class, ready to learn. They are inquisitive and prepared to learn new things in new ways. They get up each day and continue moving forward. They've powered through a pandemic! My students are going to do great things. Watching them grow is such a rewarding process. Cultivating a love a science is a pleasure and I love being a part of that.

My Project

These books will be a great source for my students to begin building their knowledge of Oklahoma weather. With these books my students will learn more about tornadoes as well as predicting catastrophic weather events.

In the event we are without technology my students will still have the ability to learn.Having books will allow my students to shut off their computers and have a book to hold as they read about weather and weather related events.

Oklahoma weather is crazy, having these resources available to my students pertaining to weather will benefit them now and in the future.
