My students can be described as fun, loving, creative, and family. Each student strives to do the best they can with what life has given them. I would like to provide more for them with your help. We are a small rural school with most of our students coming from a high poverty area.
I would like to open up the world of art to my students by providing supplies that they would not normally have the chance to use.
The world of art is the answer for many that do not do well academically. Preschoolers are fun, love to learn and create with almost nothing. The ability to provide media that they would not normally be able to have with a regular school budget is exciting not only to me but to them also!
Imagine that you are four years old and just beginning your school career as a preschooler! Now, you enter the art room for the first time and your teacher hands you paint and tells you to paint a picture. Oh, boy, we are having fun!! The only problem is you have never painted anything before and your hands can't seem to control the paintbrush and you cannot get the paint to go where you want it to go. Your first art experience with paint may not go as well as you expected.
With Do-A-Dot Markers and Blick Tempera Paint preschoolers can create beautiful pieces of art and the paint goes where they are wanting it to go!
Amazing how with the right products a child's work can become the masterpiece that they and their teacher imagined. As a teacher I have found the first years of experience may determine how the rest of a child's school career may continue. Give a child the right materials and they can create anything!
