My Students
Many of the Pre-K students come from multi-cultural backgrounds and are English Language learners. They have very little or no exposure to any kind of learning experiences prior to coming to school.
The boys and girls are primarily English Language Learners.
They come from a variety of different cultural backgrounds. Most of the students in the school come from poverty stricken homes where their basic needs are barely provided for. They are very limited in basic exposure to the world around them. It would be an amazing opportunity if these children were given a chance to use media and technology to learn and experience the world around them.
My Project
The ipod touch is a perfect segway for students to learn many things that they need to know using their hands and minds together. There are many applications for the ipod that will teach them and help them develop a love of learning. The iPod touch has many apps that can provide practice and remediation for a struggling student, as well as enrichment for students who are brighter. The possibilities are limitless!
As teachers, we always look for new and innovative ways to motivate students and engage them in learning that is both informative and fun!
The boys and girls would be engaged in basic reading and math activities and many other concepts. The access of the ipod touch will give them an opportunity to use technology that they would never have access to in their own homes!
