My Students
My students are a group kids between the ages of 3 to 5. I have students of all different backgrounds, cultures and abilities. They are curious, young, happy, kind and eager to learn. Because play is so important at their age, my students love P.E. where they come to learn, have fun and grow together!
My Project
These materials will help my students in numerous ways! Not only will they help my students develop physical motor skills, but also help them develop social-emotional skills through play with classmates.
The tunnel and hopscotch will be great to improve my students' gross motor skills.
Being so young, my students struggle with balance, jumping and hopping. The hopscotch is a fun way to help them practice! Not only will the tunnel be fun for students to practice crawling, it also is a fun cooperative tool that students enjoy using during activities where "the floor is lava" or at a station where students can use the tunnel to calm down or have their own space to reflect for any reason!
Furthermore, my students are working on spatial awareness. The net will help my students understand that one team has a half of the gym, while they other team has the other. The net will help them understand the concept of team sports at a young age. The net will help with throwing and catching games, volleyball games and many other cooperative games.
Lastly, the disc paddles will be extremely helpful in developing my students' hand-eye coordination. The adhesive material will help my students be more successful at catching, and therefore, give them confidence in their growing skills!
