This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a pre-k prep teacher and I work in 6 classes, there is a 7th class that I would like to include. My pre-k 4 year olds are very curious about the world around them. I am known as the Scientist teacher because I am always finding a way to include something new in the Science area.

My goal is to expose our pre-k students to new and exciting activities in the world of science and technology.

I will like to get them ready for what kindergarten is like. I want to give them the tools and utilize their love to learn at this age.

My Project

The students are always curious about how things grow. They have learned that plants need various things to make it grow, however, they are not use to hearing that plants can grow in water. This project will make a world of difference to allow the student to explore how plants can grow using the Hydroponic system. I hope to create a system in the school where it can expand not only pre-k classes but for upper grades as well.

Introducing the basic hydroponics to the students, made them enjoy learning the simple process and taking care of the fish.

We used a small tank and tracked the plants growth. Now, the students are looking towards expanding what we have been doing to something bigger that can fit in the classroom. With your donation you will be able to make that happen.
