My Project
My Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) class consists of two half day sessions. The students range from 3-5 years old and are eager to learn. These little ones are able to capture much of their learning in small segments. What I love most about these students is that they learn through fun and play.
The purpose of technology integration in early childhood Special Education is to enrich the child's experience and support intended learning and developmental outcomes for children who are physically or developmentally challenged.
Research shows that STEAM learning encourages students' creativity and expression and develops numerical abilities as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The OSMO Little Genius Starter Kit is perfect for the technology center in the classroom. Having this center in the classroom would give the students an innovative learning adventure that would reiterate the daily lesson through play-based activities. Students will be able to use their problem-solving skills while developing their learning foundations.
The Little Genius Starter Kit includes 4 educational games that will help my students recognize letters and learn phonics (ABCs), develop pre-drawing skills (Squiggle Magic), identify social-emotional cues, and experiment with clothes and colors (Costume Party), and develop problem-solving skills (Stories). My students will develop creativity, imagination, fine motor skills, verbal proficiency, empathy, and spatial reasoning.
Adding this center to the Early Childhood Special Education classroom it will enhance the students learning and achieving kindergarten readiness. Thank you!
