This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experiences during the school day.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
My students need supplies that will help enhance their learning. The living insects will be a great addition to our science center. The magna-tiles will allow the children to explore at our light table. My students will use these materials to increase their learning in everyday centers. The materials will not only provide the academics they need, but they will provide a fun learning environment for my students. I know that these materials will be exciting for my students to have. Any donations will help improve my classroom.
I am willing to do anything to foster a love for school at such a young age.
By having these materials, the students will have a fun, learning experience that will carry on with them throughout their years of schooling.
