Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is in the heart of Brooklyn, NY.

It includes students from Pre-K to eighth grade, and it is a melting pot of descendants from the West Indies.

The school is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the students in the school receive free lunch. There are 18 energetic, three and four-year-old children in my class but there are not a lot of funds to enrich these students' education because of the budget cuts and although our families give us support they can't always help out financially.

My Project

Let's Find Out and My Big World with Clifford into my classroom to help enrich our lessons and to provide more nonfiction reading material. These magazines will give them an insight to what is going on in their world. Magazines are also wonderful tools to use to teach reading to Pre-K because they are written at the students' reading level.

Your donation will help create worldly and appreciative Pre-k students.

Having these magazines would assure me that my students are aware of their world and they may even think of ways they can positively change it for generations to come!
