Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
PreK 123 loves completing challenges and transforming objects from one concept to another. At 4 and 5 they are very inquisitive, which is why I would love to be able to expand on their interest by adding new challenging puzzles, modifiable blocks, and other materials that will foster STEM skills and concepts.
My goal is to foster predictions and critical thinking as my Pre-K students explore centers.
I foresee excitement as the students identify shapes and ask questions about why the water blocks can float. I can use both blocks to support pattern-building and engineering skills. I can also see a great lesson about pairs and matching as the students cut and play with the food. My students will spark up a conversation about weather and seasons as they embark on the seasonal floor puzzles as well.
