My Students
My school is located Coral Springs, Florida. I have a diverse classroom. My students' ages range from 3-5 years. There are 3 boys and 2 girls in my classroom. My students love coming to school and participating in a range of activities.
My students are on the autism spectrum and love to have a routine in their daily activities.
They use individual visual schedules in daily functioning. We engage in both large group and small group activities as part of our daily routine. They love to read, sing, dance, play and do any activities that preschoolers generally enjoy. They also enjoyed the use of manipulatives, iPads and games as a part of small group rotations. They look forward to outside activities on a daily basis.
My Project
Physical activity makes a difference in children’s physical health and overall development. May experts agree that physical activities encourage healthy behaviors to dispel childhood obesity, develop motor skills, coordination, and movement at a young age and improves mood and self-esteem. My project is geared towards helping my pre k children develop physical, social and emotional skills to build their overall development.
Outdoor activities are a part of our daily routine.
My children look forward to participating in outdoor activities on a daily basis. I will, therefore, use the basketball hoop, balls, parachute, bubbles, hoops and mini bowling set and jump ropes etc., to help them engage in different activities such as throwing, catching, running, and jumping to help with gross motor development.
They will also be engaged in sharing, requesting, and taking turns to help with their social development and communication skills. These social skills are also linked to students goals that they need to master during the program. The portable cart was included for the proper storage of toys and to keep them safe. I anticipate your kind donations to help bring this project to life to impact my children. I can see their faces beaming with excitement with new and varied toys for them to play with.
