Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with a lively group of students with learning difficulties. They struggle to complete academic tasks without lots of repetition and practice. They love when learning becomes a game and they can interact with what they are learning.
My students are filled with a love of life and learning.
They don't let their disabilities hold them back from accomplishing new skills and meeting new goals. They enjoy hands-on activities in the classroom.
These math materials will be used to engage my students in the development of counting skills. My students will be able to move the rocket along the number line to help them count and learn one-to-one correspondence. My students need lots of practice to develop their skills and these materials will give them the necessary practice needed to develop and maintain their counting skills. They need exposure to new skills in a variety of settings and the materials we are requesting will provide them with many different opportunities to develop their counting skills. The learning rods set will allow them to place objects on a rod and practice counting.
Counting and number recognition is the foundation of math skills.
The development of these vital skills is the basis for all future math skills and I want to make sure that my students have every opportunity available to them to develop these skills. Please help them to move from passive learners to active learners who know how to count.
