My students need materials to assist and reinforce lessons that have been introduced. We so greatly appreciate any assistance to help us provide greater resources for our deserving and amazing students!!
We are a full inclusion half day (2 sessions) preschool in an inner city school. Children enter with varying ages (3-5) and varying abilities. The inclusion model consist of a 7:8 ratio, 7 of the children are on an IEP for special needs which may include (however not limited to) develomental delay, Down syndrome, and autism. The other 8 children are considered typical developing and act as role model for their peers. Each child is an assets to the classroom and a joy to work with.
My Project
As mentioned previously, our students are enrolled in a full inclusion pre-k classroom from an inner city school, with limited resources. The ages of our students range from 3-5 years of age and many with special needs such as Down's syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, communication and speech delays.
By donating to our project, you will help my students expand their vocabulary and communication, apply ELA and math skills , through the hands on math and letter sets and games requested.
This will increase awareness with their number and letter recognition skills, which are a big component of our curriculum. The light sensory table is great for multi- sensory exploration and discovery. This project will assist in allowing each child to reach their full potential and individual needs.
Our students truely enjoy hands on learning experiences that are engaging and interactive, allowing them a greater understanding of pre-k skills and better prepare them for kindergarten. Materials posted will allow us to reach this goal.
