My students are creative, outgoing, and eager to learn. How can we close the achievement gap when students do not have the necessary materials to succeed? Our school serves students in grades Pk-5th and provides a safe learning environment and fantastic teachers.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.
Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
We need art supplies for our creativity center. Our creativity center is a place where students can be creative and use their imagination to express their learning in different ways. We need paint, glitter, pasta, stickers, stencils, and sorting trays to have an organized center.
My students need the opportunity to think creatively.
In order for this to happen we need to have an art center that contains the materials necessary for my students to express their creativity. Art can help my students build motor skills, develop visual-spatial skill, and confidence. This project will help my students significantly in our creativity center.
