Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This project would help improve my students’ literacy. We are a Hawaii DOE SPED PreK, and this would help them learn necessary skills in a more concrete, playful way. Due to COVID-19 these students were impacted, and need help catching up to close the gap left in their education. Isolation and the need for mask wearing put these children in a disadvantage. Because of their special needs, materials that facilitates them making the necessary connections towards their learning while playing is imperative as they are motivated to play and therefore learn.
