My Students
Hello everyone! We are located right in the heart of the Bronx, extremely close to the Yankee Stadium. This site is a Title 1 school. The setting is a Monolingual classroom, including one general education teacher (myself) and 15 amazing little ones in person. Most of my students speak different languages ( Spanish, Arabic, French & Creole). They are very energetic. According to the U.S. Department of Education, Title 1 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act provides financial assistance to local educational agencies and schools with high numbers or high percentages of students from low-income families to help ensure that all students meet challenging state academic standards.
My Project
I'm requesting these materials to help my students with their development. This type of play can also be described as manipulative play. A child uses their hands to manipulate toys and objects to learn how to use them. This includes construction play, arts and crafts, and tool use (e.g., scissors) and helps to develop eye-hand coordination. Beads & Patterns cards set will help with learning patterns and colors. Counting bears with matching bowls will help with sorting and counting. Pattern Blocks Animals with help with identifying shapes. Manipulatives also encourage self-talk, discussion, and language development.
