Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This awesome ESL Pre-K group is filled with energy and curiosity.

Our diversity of students come from homes that speak little or no English.

Therefore, our students come to school speaking little or no English. This language barrier makes it difficult for these young students to comprehend what is being taught and difficult for the parents to help their students learn.

Our students and their families have been through a lot this past year. Our community was impacted by Hurricane Harvey last year. A lot of our students are from a low income family. This fact has made it extremely difficult for these families to recover from the hurricane.

My Project

Pre-K students love music! They have so much fun dancing, moving and learning with music! With our new boombox our students will be able to exercise while learning and having a lot of fun!

Exercising to music for Pre-K students makes getting fit fun!

Keeping Pre-K students engaged and interested in fitness is a challenge. Four and five year old students have short attention spans and get bored very easily. Using the boombox to play music will inspire our students to get up, move, exercise and have fun while learning!

All the music our students exercise to is educational. The students exercise to songs that reinforce counting, letter sounds and directions. Our students are always singing these songs all day long!

Boombox + educational exercise music = smart, healthy kids!!
