This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The first year of preschool can be really tough for young children and their families. Juggling older students, newborn babies, changing work schedules, and just life, in general, can make it a difficult transition.
Imagine you are three years old, have special needs, and are not yet able to clearly communicate with your caregivers - and you come to school HUNGRY!
It would be really hard to make it through the morning without something to eat! The school-provided food isn't enough for these little bodies, and they are not yet used to being on a school schedule so having access to snacks and foods throughout the day, and to take home, will help ease the transition and give them the fuel they need to learn!
The items in this project are things like a storage cabinet, to be used to store the different food items like ramen, breakfast bars, and scooby snacks! We also will need some napkins, paper towels, and utensils so they are able to eat.
