Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our school is located in the Little Village community. It is a blended classroom with students with varying physical, emotional, and verbal needs. Currently, when students need some extra time, they are redirected to our library, but having a space with two different purposes has its limits. As we have worked within it, we have realized the importance of creating a dedicated space for students to reset when having a difficult time. Our classroom team has maximized the space in our classroom, and we are excited to begin to create this space for our kids!
Our classroom is small but mighty, and we are in desperate need of a dedicated calming corner to help our students regulate their emotions throughout the school day.
