My Project
Our youngest students need developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant books to keep them engaged, learning, and reading all summer long! Pre-readers benefit from enjoying books independently and alongside adults at home. Access to books helps foster curiosity, promote critical thinking, deepen kids' relationships with books, and cultivate excitement about learning to read.
Through this project, all students in Pre-K and TK at our school will receive a book bag with engaging, developmentally appropriate books in English and Spanish.
This project will serve students in general education and special education — the majority of whom have disabilities, particularly Autism. The books I have selected for this project cater to these students' academic and developmental needs, as well as their particular interests.
