I am a teacher-librarian at two public schools in Southeast San Francisco, where I serve predominantly Latinx and Black students from Pre-K to 8th grade. School libraries are a place for students to develop their literacy skills — but they are also a place where students can foster their love of learning, engage in play-based learning, and improve their creative problem-solving skills. At our school library, we aim to provide a place for students to follow their passions and find joy in reading, project-based learning, and student-directed inquiry.
