Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students that come to the reading room are developing readers.

The pandemic has made these developing readers need more individualized attention.

We are the intervention before Special Ed. We teach phonemic awareness, phonics, decodable readers, dictation of phonics skills practiced.

My Project

This project gives students one on one support that they need to recoup the loss of reading skills due to Covid-19.

The lost 3 months of school and year of masks caused our NOE students to test at unprecedented lows on their beginning of year Acadience reading assessment.

The horseshoe Whiteboard Activity Table will allow students to decode while they read in small groups. The table will allow the teacher(me) close proximity to students and enable quick feedback on decoding strategies and reading.

Funding this project will help NOE support students in their learning recovery.
