This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students experience challenges that are unimaginable by most Americans I know. An important part of teaching literacy, numeracy, and equitable English acquisition involves teaching students how to support their own emotional regulation. These balance tools will give them the space to utilize balance to self regulate.
My students are eager and open minded to try new practices such as we are learning to use tapping, we have a room calm corner and an office calm room, we use restorative circles, and I am moving with them as a mostly whole group to teach 2/3.
This will allow our class community to grow even stronger and I’m excited to see them learn and grow and thrive for another year. Thank you for supporting donorschoose and teachers who have classrooms where students are thriving and allowing them to achieve dreams.
