This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or in the same way." -George Evans In order to grasp new concepts, children with special needs, often require more time, repetition, and resources to be successful.

My students with special needs attend a school in a low income, high poverty area and are lacking many life essentials.

Nonetheless, the learning atmosphere at my school is positive and supportive. We strive to create a sense of safety and security for all. The students and their families struggle to meet basic needs, and the teachers and staff strive to meet their educational needs.

My Project

My students will use these materials including privacy partitions, wipe and write pockets, and math folder games, during their math stations to apply and practice math skills and strategies. With materials such file folder games, the students will experience success and keep them connected while learning. These resources will also help fill in gaps, and help students reach their potential. Students will learn from the multiple experiences with models and reiteration of the linkage of models with abstract, and numerical manipulations.

Your donation will improve my classroom by giving the students an opportunity to practice math skills and strategies during math stations.

It will change their lives by giving them the opportunity to build on their own strengths.
