My Students

Remember being able to write in your workbooks and getting worksheets to practice what you learned. Remember how excited you were when your teacher printed little leveled books for you to keep at home. Imagine always being told you cannot write on the page or not being able to take books home.

My students range from grades K-3 and range in disabilities from mild to moderate, low and high incidence disabilities such as Learning Disability, Developmental Delay, Autism, Intellectual Disability, and Speech Language Delay.

A lot of materials in our classroom are teacher made to meet the varying needs of the students. My students learn best when they have resources to practice what they have learned. All the students receive homework everyday and are very excited to bring their work back the next day and show me their completed work. They really enjoy taking books home at their level so they are able to read it to their families. Our school is located in a high poverty and high crime area, so most students are not able to print books at home. It is also difficult to provide each student with copies of activities for practice.

My Project

I am requesting a printer and ink for our classroom in order to create materials for classwork, projects, homework, and assessments. One of the things the students benefit from is being able to take books home at their level that they can read to their families. This really motivates the students and helps them improve their fluency in reading. With the printer, I will be able to print books for the students from Reading A-Z at their individual reading levels. The printer will also allow students to each have a copy of activities to help them practice what they have learned. They will use the materials printed for homework and classwork. With the printer, I will also be able to print graphic organizers for students to assist them with their writing skills.

Your kind donations will be greatly appreciated and will have a lasting impact on our classroom.

This donation will allow students to take books at their level to improve reading skills, it will allow students to take worksheets to practice skills learned in reading and math, and it will allow students to receive graphic organizers to help them with their writing. Thank you for considering our project.
