My students range from Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors. They all have Learning Disabilities with Dyslexia. Therefore, they require multi-modes of input to learn. They are part of a multi-sensory program, which is a highly structured and multi-modal intervention to provide intensive support for students who are either non-readers or are far below their grade level. Our school is located in a high poverty area, so there are limited resources in the community as well as in the school. My students need hands-on opportunities to learn new skills. When they are able to use a variety of learning styles, they are more engaged and learn better. My goal is to provide them with the hands-on activities and visuals they enjoy and need so they can be successful in learning and improving literacy skills.
