Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My second grade class is full of students that love working together and are eager to learn. We are working on key literacy skills such as decoding texts, learning sight words and new vocabulary, and working on fluency and reading comprehension. Many of my students are newcomers and need help learning common everyday vocabulary words.

The vocabulary workbooks will provide a tool to help them practice new words as they navigate the difficult task of simultaneously learning English and learning to read.

All my students will benefit from the extra practice in handwriting skills with the materials from Learning Without Tears handwriting books.
