Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are an Early Learning Center consisting of Pre-K and kindergarten students. Our classroom is often a child's first introduction to formal education. Using Creative Curriculum, children are eager to learn through a variety of hands-on experiences.
In our multicultural, low-income community, students arrive with a smile.
They look forward to trying new things and using materials that they have never used before. Our unique program allows them to learn all subjects in English and Spanish on a daily basis.
My Project
We have been in school since September and I have watched my students make progress with basic skills, including cutting, writing, drawing, counting, and identifying letters and numbers.
There have been several students as well as full classrooms in our school that has had to quarantine due to COVID exposure, making it necessary to teach virtually and/or send work home.
Providing students with workbooks, whiteboards, and scissors will enable students to continue quality learning whenever they are at home. Workbooks, scissors, and whiteboards can also be used in the classroom to practice and improve fine motor and academic skills in preparation for kindergarten
