My students need reliable rubber mats to stand on during batting practices, arm bands to keep their shoulders and elbows in good shape throughout the season, and a bat bag to carry bats to away games.
My High School Softball Program consists of girls ranging from Seventh to Twelfth grade. The Program has two teams, Junior Varsity and Varsity. Because the area and the High School are only a few years old, our Program is made up of many different skill levels. For instance, some girls have been playing softball for many years, whereas others have recently started. Overall, the girls are eager to learn and better themselves as softball players.
The girls are hard working athletes who are dedicated to their sport.
They show this dedication through countless hours of practice during the season and off-season. They also strengthen and condition their bodies to prepare for the softball season each year. In addition, the girls also devote time to fundraising in order to fund necessities.
My Project
The PHS Softball Program is in the need of some new equipment to use daily during practices. The sturdy rubber mats will be used to stand on during hitting practices to ensure we do not damage the grass on and around the field and facility. The mats will also help the girls remain balanced as they work to improve their hitting techniques and skills. The program is also in the need of arm bands. Throughout any softball season, shoulder and elbow issues are bound to arise. These bands would allow our athletes to stretch their arms appropriately before each practice and game to eliminate any possible injuries later on.
Lastly, in order to keep our equipment in good shape, we are asking for a hanging bat bag.
The bat bag will hold all of our bats and travel with the team to away games. This would allow our best and most expensive bats to stay safe and in great condition for many seasons to come!
