My students need keyboard covers to transport keyboards from school to home for practicing at home.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Allen's classroom raised $495
This project is fully funded
My Students
The population range from poor to middle class within the school and the school district. The school is the oldest African American high school and has a proud and supportive alumni who continue to assist with keeping up with the school's integrity and tradition. The students are very tech savvy and are very open-minded in learning foreign music. Students who have been placed in some of the music classes offered at the school have expressed their interest in music technology. The students seek lessons that are more engaging through technology based music instruction. Students in the fine arts program are also students who seek immediate feedback. For example, SmartMusic software records and grades their performance. This software helps student engaged in sight reading exercises.
My Project
Piano class is not offered this year. Even though it was not offered, I am able to teach piano lessons after school. Students who have an interest do not have keyboards at home to practice. Students are able to complete an instrument check out so that they are able to practice at home. This will give students the opportunity to practice piano skills at home to show growth when they attend their after school lessons. Students will also be able to learn songs independently as well as teach themselves different piano concepts at home. The keyboard covers will allow easy transport from school to home.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
