My Students

My students come to school every day ready and excited to learn. My students come from many diverse backgrounds which gives my students many opportunities to learn from each other on a daily basis.

My school is part of the Leader in Me program which believes every child has their own strengths and the ability to be a leader.

My school and classroom provides different opportunities for each child to lead in different ways. We set and track academic and personal goals throughout the year to be able to watch growth and meet high expectations. We think learning these leadership skills will help make our students leaders in our society when they become adults.

My Project

With Hurricane Harvey's anniversary rapidly approaching I am going to need a more engaging way of learning for my students than the traditional pencil and paper.

First grade students love mimicking their teacher and get excited whenever they can use dry erase markers.

The dry erase clipboards and dry erase pockets will allow each student to actively participate in every lesson. These items will allow all students to quickly fix mistakes and continue working.

First graders also love to show their individuality and creativity by choosing their color dry erase marker. This will help them to stay engaged in learning. Each student will also have their own eraser to adjust their thinking as they are working and make corrections if needed.

As another hurricane season is among us, it is important to keep my student's mind focused on learning. These dry erase materials will help make that happen.
